Pilot Year 1 Focus
CPACPG is determined to spend the first year studying the ecosystem of the Canadian communities in the Rockies, including the region in between Jasper and Mînî Thnî.
The pilot aims at identifying:
1- Community organizations serving communities struggling with inclusion
2- Challenges of these communities
3- Local artists in these communities
The communities will be identified, approached with a survey aiming at collecting data and garnering collaboration through raising awareness that their remote communities served shall never be artistically underserved.
By offering artistic performances by dedicated artists, awareness will be raised, knowledge of the role of arts in the healing journeys of their communities will be shared, while local artists will be approached to participate in the multiplier effect and develop local plans & strategies to keep serving their communities through their art.
Bow Valley Artist Gathering

The Banff based community connector, OESA Arts, held a gathering for Bow Valley artists from different disciplines to discuss the challenges, needs and possibilities encountered by the artists from the region. The gathering artists shared their need for knowledge, opportunities, and connections to make their art relevant.
The presence of the CPACPG and sharing the vision/mission of the newly founded organization was appreciated and garnered interest.
The talks with the artists and representation from the Town of Canmore emphasized the need to build on that momentum, and talks are underway to organize a solid collective that has a community role & connection.
