About the CPACPG

Created under the Alberta Societies Act, the Canadians Performing Arts & Culture for Public Good Society is dedicated to making the performing arts accessible to everyone, regardless of age, ability, income, or location. We believe that art is not a luxury—it is a public good that has the power to inspire, heal, connect communities, and improve quality of life.

Thus, the mandate of the organization is founded on the principles of “Bringing Art to the Artless,” “Serving Art to the Underserved.” CPACPG creates and delivers meaningful artistic experiences to individuals and communities facing barriers to participation. Thus people in Shelters, Senior Homes, Hospices, Treatment Centers, Prisons and remote locations are our natural partners and service recipients. Through live performances, workshops, music, theatre, dance, storytelling, film, and community arts initiatives, we bring professional artists directly to people who may otherwise have limited access to the arts. We also reach out to remote artists for workshops to let them thrive with their communities and hence have the multiplier effects of communal participation and development.

We proudly serve seniors, persons with disabilities, newcomers, Indigenous communities, rural and remote populations, hospitals, long-term care homes, shelters, schools, correctional facilities, and other underserved communities across Canada.

Our work is built on collaboration. We partner with artists, cultural organizations, community groups, healthcare providers, educators, businesses, governments, and philanthropists to develop inclusive programming that reflects Canada’s rich cultural diversity while fostering creativity, belonging, and social well-being.

Our Mission

To improve lives by providing accessible, inclusive, and high-quality performing arts and cultural experiences that strengthen communities, promote social inclusion, and enrich the lives of people facing barriers to participation.

Our Vision

A Canada where every person, regardless of circumstance, has the opportunity to experience, participate in, and benefit from the transformative power of the performing arts and culture.

Our Values

  • Accessibility – Making arts and culture available to everyone.
  • Inclusion – Celebrating diversity and ensuring every voice is welcomed and represented.
  • Community – Building stronger, healthier communities through shared cultural experiences.
  • Collaboration – Working with partners to maximize collective impact.
  • Creativity – Inspiring imagination, innovation, and lifelong learning.
  • Respect – Honouring the dignity, cultures, and lived experiences of every individual.
  • Public Good – Using the arts as a force for social connection, wellness, and positive community change.

At CPAPG, we believe that every performance has the power to uplift a life, every artist has the ability to inspire change, and every community deserves access to the joy, connection, and hope that the performing arts can provide. Together, we are creating a more inclusive Canada—one performance, one partnership, and one community at a time.
